Off The Wall Theatre is proud to present two weekends of a very special production, "Love Letters," the Pulitzer Prize for Drama nominated play by A. R. Gurney.  The show centers on just two characters, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepiece Ladd III and their lifelong relationship.  Using the epistolary form sometimes found in novels, they sit side by side at tables and read their correspondence to each other in which they discuss the hopes and ambitions, dreams and disappointments, victories and defeats that have passed between them throughout their separated lives.  The powerful ending, when each realizes that what they have in essence been writing all these years were love letters, makes for an amazing and intriguing evening of theatre.

This thoughtful and touching production featured two different casts of very talented couples.  The first weekend, March 13th thru 15th featured Mark Salentine and Mary DeBattista,.  Mark serves as Artistic Director for the Sunset Playhouse, and Mary has appeared at Off the Wall in "JACQUES BREL," and "THREEPENNY OPERA."   The second weekend, March 20th thru 22nd, featured Don and Donna Lobacz.  Both have worked with Dale Gutzman Productions over the years, and were here united on stage.    Both shows were staged at Off the Wall Theatre, located at 127 E. Wells Street, Milwaukee WI; under the direction of Lawrence Lukasavage, OFF THE WALL'S resident on stage character actor, here stretching his directing talents.
